How long does the crown lengthening procedure take?
Most crown lengthening procedures are very straightforward, but the time it takes depends on the number of teeth that require treatment.
What about aftercare?
Following surgery, the treated area may be a little tender, swollen or sore. Over-the-counter painkillers and antibiotics can be prescribed to alleviate any discomfort and to prevent an infection from occurring.
Rest with your head elevated and limit physical activity for the first 24-hours post-surgery. For the first 4-5 hours post-surgery, we recommend placing an ice pack on your face in 20-minute intervals to reduce swelling.
In most cases, recovery time is minimal, and you can resume your normal activities the day after surgery.
